Elsewhere is a two-person team creating small-batch, premium gin inspired by the unique character of the places we love. Distiller Mark and designer Zoë forage for botanicals together—often while exploring nature with family and friends—giving each gin a deeply personal connection to its origin. Using the winemaking concept of terroir, our gins capture the distinct flavours of place and season, making each batch truly one of a kind. Just like vintage wine, no two releases are ever exactly the same.

At Juno Distillery, we craft premium New Zealand gin inspired by nature, science, and mythology. Founded by Jo and Dave James, our small-batch spirits are distilled using hand-selected, locally sourced botanicals and the pure water of Mt Taranaki. Founded by Lacey, with support from her winemaker husband Tim, Dr Beak is committed to producing premium gin using almost entirely New Zealand-grown botanicals. It all started in May 2021, when we fell for a home just outside Whanganui and made the move from windy Wellington. The property came with two large pear orchards—and the question soon followed: what would we do with all the pears? The answer, it turns out, was gin. Today, we run a craft distillery in Upokongaro, using homegrown botanicals like kawakawa, quince, figs, and of course, pears, to create a spirit deeply connected to the land it comes from.
